It was built in 1929. It has housed the Constituent Assembly during the 40’s and the chamber of representatives and the senate. Today is the headquarters of The Cuban Academy of Sciences and the
Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, and it is one of the most important museums in the

Its construction dates from 1929. Here settled the House of Representatives and the Senate. Inspired by the United States Capitol, the building has a neoclassical facade and a columnar dome reaches 91.73 m. Located in the center of the capital, between the Prado, Dragons, Industry and San José streets, is the kilometric origin of the network of Cuban roads, and after the triumph of the Revolution, when it was dissolved Congress, was transformed into the headquarters of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment and the Academy of Sciences of Cuba.
Cuba National Capitol. Remarkable symbol of the city of Havana and one of the great buildings of Cuba. Of great architectural richness, richly ornamented, pure and beautiful lines proportions. Throughout the preparation of high quality building materials, such as were used: Italian marble, details on walls, ceilings, doors and lamps, most melted in France. The Capitol is admired by both natives and foreigners. It was declared a National Monument by Resolution 04 of November 15, 2010. Today this majestic work is undergoing a major restoration by the Office of the Historian of the City of Havana.
